MAP testing was a success this week! It was great to see so many students on campus. We look forward to connecting with families next week for our virtual parent-teacher conferences. Please see below for important information coming up in the Muir community.
We use Twitter to share and celebrate the wonderful things happening at Muir. Please follow me @carolyn_allar and our Muir page @WeAreMuir54. Below is a list of our teachers who have Twitter pages. Please follow them to get student updates!
Support for Muir Families
Calling all Muir Families!
The food pantry has been officially stocked to capacity! The pantry is available to all of the Muir community. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, families are not able to visit the pantry in person, however, we are more than happy to fill an order for your pick up at Muir! In order to access the pantry, fill out this Google Form. Once we receive your order, it will be packed up and ready for pickup at Muir. We will call you to coordinate a pick-up time.
Some of our new items include cereal, pasta, sauce, peanut butter, pop tarts, fruit snacks, ramen noodles, soups, protein bars, AND assorted toiletries! Keep up to date on when we have new food arriving by liking our Facebook Page. Click here to access the page. Order today before some of these amazing items are swept off the shelves!
Family Cooking Night
We are once again hosting our annual Family Cooking Night-Zoom style! Please see the flyer below for the details. We hope to see you there!
Arrival and Dismissal
Each day at arrival and dismissal, we use this opportunity to teach our students safe practices. To ensure safety for our students walking, we close our parking lot to vehicles at 8:15 each morning. Please refrain from driving around the barricades. We ask that vehicles remain in the parking lot until 8:40. At the end of the day, cars stay in the parking lot until 3:10 to ensure all foot traffic is off school grounds. Please help support us with these additional reminders:
-Walk on the sidewalks only and refrain from walking in the parking lot
-Cross the street at the crosswalk only
Once again we are reaching out to our families and asking you to participate in the annual Illinois 5Essentials Survey to provide us with your perspective and help guide our school improvement efforts. The parent survey will be available online through April 2, 2021, at survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois.
For more information, click here to read the letter from District 54.
With the safety mitigation measures we have in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, please do not send Valentine’s cards or treats to school with your children as we will not be able to distribute them to other children.
